According
to Ven. Norlha Rinpoche: "It is also excellent to offer the butterlamps,
candles or light because this act of offering this light symbolizes burning away
our mental afflictions of desire, aggression, greed, jealousy, pride and so
forth. The other part of the symbolism is that it is a way to burn away our
illness."
Buddhist Free Clinic
http://www.sbfc.org.sg/en/donation.htm.
Singapore Buddhist Free Clinic is a charitable organisation set up by local Buddhists. Based on the Buddhist teachings of loving kindness and compassion, its objective is to provide free medical services to the sick and needy, so as to relieve their suffering on illness and to help them leading a healthier and happier life.
The Free Clinic was established in 1969. The idea of setting up a free clinic was mooted by the late Ven. Siong Khye (BBM). Ven. Seck Hong Choon, the late Abbot of Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, responded enthusiastically by donating the entire income of a religious event held in 1966
Every year i will make small donation to Buddhist free clinic. This is a clinic that helps alot of poor and old people. If you can make small donation to them. Just few dollars can help alot of poor and old people.
